前へ進めど 神はおられず

後ろに行けども 神がわからず

左に向かえど 神を見ず

右に向かえど 会うことができない

しかし 神は私の行く道を

知っておられる 知っておられる

神はわたしを調べられる

わたしは金のように出て来る

神はわたしを調べられる

わたしは金のように出て来る

 

ああ、私が前へ進んでも、神はおられず、うしろに行っても、神を認めることができない。

左に向かって行っても、私は神を見ず、右に向きを変えても、私は会うことができない。

しかし、神は、私の行く道を知っておられる。神は私を調べられる。私は金のように、出て来る。

 “But if I go to the east, he is not there;

if I go to the west, I do not find him.

When he is at work in the north, I do not see him;

when he turns to the south, I catch no glimpse of him.

But he knows the way that I take;

when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.
